Tyler Penland
That's a lot of precip over central TN that wasn't supposed to be there last night.
Maggie Valley Steve
Temperature has risen from 25° at 5 this morning to 30° now. Moisture is heading our way and it's going to be interesting to see what the initial onset will bring. My point and click forecast suggests a rain/snow mix.
Met1985
A dang cold night and morning here. Had a low of 18 with a current temp of 23 degrees. Sometimes we do ok in CAD Sometimes we don't. Just depends on how the holler holds the cold. Definitely didn't think it would be this cold still this morning.
Met1985
This is basically moving due east. There isn't going to be much warming at all with this. If this gets here in about an hour we are going to have some major issues. The ground is cold and frozen and temps are below freezing. Maggie Valley Steve
The 12Z 12km NAM increases the amount of wintry weather across the area. Actually the snow total increased, particularly the NWFS tomorrow into Tuesday morning. One thing for sure, it's going to get very cold this week with s snow pack close by. GSP has me with a 40 to 50% chance of snow for a 24 hour period beginning early Friday.

BhamParker
Hope all is well with you mountain folks who I live thru vicariously this time of year. I’m hoping for the storm to trend better for us down here but if not I’ll likely be hauling up the family to Maggie valley on Thursday-Sunday. Watching model trends carefully, but hope we all can score! Good luck!
eyewall
It is not unusual for models to underestimate start times for precip with overrunning events.

Maggie Valley Steve
Hard not to like the 12Z GFS solution. Dropped 8 inches here starting midday Friday. Going to be an interesting week.
Sw NC weather
Very solid GFS run for Friday and Saturday. Models are starting to somewhat come more aligned with earth other. GEFS and EPS both have a mean over 3” for us mountain ppl. Hold this look through 12z Tuesday and will be cooking.

BretWx
Agree on the GFS. Hard to trust anything within 3 days at this point. Let's hope it keeps it up. We're overdue. At least by Thursday afternoon runs we'll have a pretty good idea. So, 4 days away? LOL!
