Some of the models keep insisting on a brief period of snow in the mountains tomorrow morning.

Models appear to be struggling with the waves of low pressure riding along the front within a negative tilted trough. Some of the guidance suggests an upper air disturbance following the cold front from the W to NW as well. The wind is going to be howling and very cold air should move in late Wednesday afternoon into Thursday morning. The 3km NAM is depicting a dusting to an inch of snow here in Maggie. If that happens, it will be the third accumulating snow so far this Winter. Still waiting on a bigger storm and perhaps there is something on the horizon just before Christmas. We will see.

A bit off topic, but somewhat weather related....Does anyone know much about the new management at Wolf Laurel Ski resort (now Hatley Point)?  I really want to try them out and hope they succeed, but I'm already seeing things that I dont like.  From what i can see online, they have done an excellent job with rennovations to the lodge, and have added what looks like a nice high-end restaurant.  However, they still havent opened their slopes!  And as i check web cams, I see that they are the ONLY resort that is NOT running their snow guns...WHY?  Surely the new management knows that winter in this area is not wall to wall cold, and they MUST take advantage of cold times to build up bases.

Anyway, does anyone know when they might open?  Before Christmas?  I just fear that there isnt much of a philosophy change from the old owners..

Supposedly, they were waiting on a part for the lift, and the final inspection was scheduled on 12/11. They said they were focusing on snowmak8ng at the top of the mountain, out of view of the cameras, and are opening this weekend. I guess we'll see.

That's good to hear, and again, I am rooting for them!  Its easy to criticize from afar, but good grief, they bought the resort over a year ago, and I would have thought that the lifts would have been serviced a long time ago.  Anyway, I'm glad that it appears close to opening!  ALso glad they are opening the back side of the mountain!

Waking up to a muggy 56° this morning.

Cold front arrives Wednesday night/Thursday morning dropping temperatures back to at least normal if not colder. Maybe a slight chance of NWFS, but keeping a closer eye on the weekend. The guidance has switched to a neutral/slightly negative trough and a much stronger shortwave diving in from the Great Lakes. Snow chance have increased and the transfer of low level energy has moved closer to the Coast. I'll be watching so see if the trends continue.
