Moonhowl
6 hours ago, Met1985 said: This was a famous late season snowstorm. The huge snow on May 5th 1992. Was a huge surprise. https://climate.ncsu.edu/blog/2017/05/remembering-the-surprise-spring-snow-in-may-1992/ Went cross country skiing on the Parkway from the Hwy 276 intersection toward Shining Rock thanks to that event. They had plowed the Parkway to Pisgah Inn by the time we got up there. A long time ago but I don't recall seeing any snow in the downtown Asheville area.

Met1985
This system is going to lack moisture. We've had this problem all season dealing with the pv dropping down.

Frankly it’s bordering absurd the amount of time between 6”+ synoptic events for all of the mountains. Let alone for anyone west of 77. I don’t think a non-flow warning level event, let alone a 2-4” one, region wide once a year in all counties with an average elevation above 1-2k feet is a thing of the past but this cycle we are stuck in is getting ridiculous ha.

Phelps
I'm a little late here and I know all eyes are on tomorrow but yesterday was a beautiful morning on Beech . The event didn't really play out as I was expecting (ended up being less sunday PM, more monday AM) but in the end we got probably 3-4 inches. https://imgur.com/a/aQgmwQU

Met1985
I think a general 2 to 4 inches for the area but kind of open along the border depending on how flow snow sets up and the duration.

Tacoma
I was hoping snow amounts would creep up today but if anything I think they've gone down a little of which it wasn't much to begin with. Boy we get a Miller A and cold air and still can't get a decent snowstorm. Man what is it gonna take to get a nice snowstorm?

Oh yeah we have the teles and the MJO that is going to be helping out a lot. You can see on the gfs already that we are in for several possible rounds of snow for the mountains.
