Maggie Valley Steve
Yeah, the grinds have us snowing from overnight Tuesday into Thursdays night. Still a lot of room for changes. And it looks bitter cold later next week as well.

Maggie Valley Steve
The wind today is howling through the Valley. Looking like we may see some gusts exceeding 45 to 50 MPH overnight into tomorrow morning.

Sw NC weather
Wow. What a run. Get it going just a hair sooner and all WNC get double digits. Hopefully this thing continues to trend colder. 3

Met1985
Ok, so I'm going to talk about several things from post to post. First, is this squall line coming in around 6 am tomorrow morning. This looks severe in nature and will pack a punch.Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
Met1985
The temps preceding the storm are going to be very cold. I think even colder than what is being shown. If we get the snow we will easily see temps below zero.Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk

Coming through and then bombing out on the coast which we always do great on the back side of these storms.

Maggie Valley Steve
Going to take some time to saturate down with the dry air behind the front tomorrow morning. Hoping for an earlier start overnight Tuesday with snow actually making it to the ground early Wednesday morning.

Met1985
Not the trends we want to see this morning on the models for here but still a few days away. Current temp of 50 degrees. Temps should start crashing soon.

Doesn't the models usually about this time sorta lose our good snow chances just to bring them back a day later, I hope the two pieces of energy phase together in the sweet spot to bring us the goods.

Yeah still a lot to workout. Obviously we aren't going to play the sky is falling here but just commenting on it at this time.

We really need the two pieces of energy to phase just right to at least have a decent snow before winter ends.
Maggie Valley Steve
GSP mentioned several things this morning that caught my eye. The Miller A is showing things on the models that is not typical. Freezing rain/sleet is very uncommon for a Miller A. The Forecaster stated the the dividing line appears to the NC/SC border, bit not real comfortable with an exact solution. GFS was what snow while the Euro was all snow. Also mentioned was snow in the Mountains and another snow chance next Saturday for the Mountains. The grids have increased snow chances beginning Tuesday night into Wednesday before tapering off Wednesday night. The guidance likely will continue to struggle the next 24 to 36 hours with their final solutions.
