Tornadoes are going to be a BIG problem overnight and tomorrow morning across the entire region.  Really hope that folks don't get caught off guard further north.  Just had a TOG in Rocky Mount VA!

Landfall will be sw of Perry and it's been obvious for hours.  

That is a heavily tree'd area near the coast. Going to be quite a mess.

That’s Connor Croff, he’s a very experienced storm chaser. I see him streaming all the time during tornado season in the plains. Not sure how much experience he has with hurricanes.

Steinhatchee or whatever's left of it is probably in the worst of the surge. Tallahassee might be starting to get raked. Maybe a bit of a NNE jog resuming.

Cantore just said between Steinhatchee and Fish Creek, which is due south of Perry.  We'll see soon...

Looks like landfall will officially happen in the next 10 minutes. Looks like those chasers are experiencing 100 mph winds now, going to be  another 15 or so for Read.

Steinhatchee getting blasted by onshore flow with the intense SE quadrant of the eyewall. Worst of the surge is likely occurring that location.

On Google Maps it looks like a town with some homes up on stilts but a lot of smaller 1 story homes/buildings. Bet those will be gone soon if not already. Hope everyone got out of there.

Called earlier today that Valdosta would get in the NE eyewall and that looks to be tracking at the moment. Could certainly see gusts over 100 there and 80+ up into E GA.

Per NHC: so kind of confused why they didn't go higher if they felt it was conservative 

Peak 700 mb flight-level winds from the aircraft were
136 kt, corresponding to an intensity of about 120 kt, which might
be a bit conservative.  Radar and satellite images show numerous
mesocyclones rotating around the eyewall.

FPY gusting to 71kts right now, surprised they never got anything bigger but the AWOS does not report a peak wind so hard to know what the real high was

Who's getting the 140mph winds?.. I dont think anybody on the ground has recorded anything like that.

Not going to lie me either didn't want to be the first to say that though. I was watching reed's stream whole event went from no wind to 50-80mph gust at times to possibly up to 100mph gust recently with the eye wall but besides that pretty tame for a 140mph sustained storm it might of went a little east of their area.
