SE & Central are in a very severe drought at the moment with it growing rapidly in the NW portion as well. IWXwx Posted September 18 Share Posted September 18 The burn bans in Indiana are spreading like wildfire. (See what I did there?) With fine fuels quickly drying, field fires become an issue. I've noticed over time that those who make the drought monitor maps are usually slow at adding conditions and slow at removing conditions. Working out SW of Milan atm and the couple creeks I’ve been by barely have a flow to them. Lots of stagnant pools on these creeks. Ditches are bone dry and cracking. Sadly when I was going through southern OH and West Virginia it is so much worse then here!!! Thankfully the models are showing some precip!!
