Itstrainingtime
(1/3) Here you go, snow fans! The moment you've been waiting for has arrived: my 2024-2025 Winter Outlook! Two primary winter-season influences will be our first-year, weak La Niña & strongly-negative Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO).. 2/3) The #PolarVortex should also be stronger than last winter, frequently keeping Arctic air "locked up" in Canada/Alaska & limiting high-latitude (NAO/AO) blocking from Dec-Feb. However, analogs suggest the coldest/snowiest part of winter could be right around the holidays.. (3/3) Despite a lack of snow & predominance of mild air this winter, odds of a #WhiteChristmas may be the highest in years. From Dec-Feb, aggregate temps should be above normal (+2-4°F) with snowfall well below avg (10-20"). I expect "all-rain" & "changeover" events to be common.

Yet another beautiful day in our new California-like climate!! We warm to the low 70's today and the upper 70's tomorrow. We then start a cooling trend that will last through the weekend. We also look to have our best chances at rain in over a month by later in the weekend...if we do get the rain on Sunday we will see temperatures struggling to escape the 50's for high temperatures. AKA, struggling to stay near normal. 2

As promised, I have not mentioned “yearly surplus” or commented on a drought map in several weeks. Also, the yearly surplus is now gone, so I am officially on “team drought”, especially with no rain in about 1 month. Everyone Please post all of the drought maps possible, until snow map season begins of course.

Yeah seems like a decent chance. We can hope. I've been keeping an eye on that because we'll be heading back from the Poconos. Sharing a lake house with three other couples and eight toddlers for the weekend ha. Should be........fun.

We fly to Boston Friday for a long weekend - they have a bunch of fires in eastern Mass and could really use it but bummer if so for us.

(12/1 - 2/28) But that doesn't diminish the obvious trolling you love to do. Why is it such a thrill for you to piss so many people off? I honestly don't understand that. Just commenting on the absurdity of 80F in November, which is much closer to heat advisory criteria of 100F than it is to extreme cold advisory criteria of -10F.
