The energy savings the last several weeks are becoming substantial.    No heat and only daytime AC on a few days.

Yeah, barely touched my oil tank level so far and received only a $90 electric bill yesterday.

If someone can find a definitive answer I'd appreciate it - I've been searching climo records trying to determine what is the longest streak of days without rainfall in Lancaster. I found one website that said it's 29 days but I don't know that i trust the source. Having said that...this is starting to feel unprecedented:

Lanco Airport here but this only goes back to 1999.  Another Lanco option that goes back farther.  Note that 2024 is only at 17 days right now.

We shut ours totally off two days before we went to PEI, so September 21, and haven't touched it since.

Our gas bill this month was $26 (gas dryer and range)

Our electrical bill this month was $73. Our house is 1970 sq foot so quite good!

Great job pulling this.  Sure looks like LNS could move up that list quickly.  For those wondering, Harrisburg's record is 35 consecutive days, which was also primarily an October phenomenon, with a date ending 10/27/47.  A couple of others tied at 28 days.

Marysville is setting up defensive encampments to keep it East of the Susq.

lol...

Seriously though, it's mostly southeast of the big river that has shown the change. Everywhere else appears to be the same.

Election Day continuing to look mostly benign. In fact, the GFS suggests that a fair amount of the Commonwealth may see no rain through Election Day, with generally light totals elsewhere. Some much needed rains showing up in the center of the country, however, with more than 2 inches in a swath from West Texas to Iowa.

Thank you! And to your comment about our current streak being 17 days, that's why I threw up the WPC map for the next 7. Assuming we're dry until this time next week...we'd potentially be just a few days away from unchartered territory.

It's the only wat PITT can fill their stadium.

Pitt doesn't have a stadium. They have to schlep across the city to play at the Steelers home.

Pitt wants to build on-campus but space is a huge issue. The basketball arena was built on the former site of old Pitt Stadium.

Don't they use 3 rivers Stadium, yes 3 rivers, sometimes?

Acrisure Stadium….Hail 2 PITT

.

On one of our annual weekend trips to see the Steelers years ago...I think it was 2012? We went to the Pitt-Louisville game on Saturday before the Steelers game on Sunday. Talk about a stark contrast in atmosphere...my son and I were in the upper level pretty much by ourselves. I think I remember they announced somewhere around 40,000 but it seemed like far fewer. Even at 40,000 that was over 25,000 short of capacity. Not a great gameday experience. Pitt really would benefit greatly from having a true home field onsite.

Space in the city is a premium $$$$.
