Fixed. Lol

The interesting thing about the Canadian (until it changes here in about 15-30 min) was the storm had a path to ride at least part way up the Eastern Coast while coming from the north was another vort with the paweather 540 line and air cold enough for wet snow with it.   Would not snow here but would not have ruled it out in New England mountains.

I noticed that and figured it was just an off run. We'll see.

My dearest Hanlore,

One week has come since the skies became dark. A week since the large ball of fire was put out like a see-gar on the ashtray of existence. And I long for your embrace. Or maybe I long for the warmth of the sun. My crotch continues to itch and I spend the majority of the time I am not writing to you going through my hairs with a small brush. I still wonder if you were truthful when telling me you did not stray beyond our matrimony whilst on your voyage to Buenos Aires. I take you at your word, but the itch is neverending.

Oh, my love, I miss with the same continuity the lightest of drizzles has enveloped the atmosphere since the sun last shone. I just hope this infernal itching will subside.

All my love,

Nooners

I just spoke with my Steinhatchee friend on the phone...was just text before.  She is 1 mile from the ocean and had 7 feet of water.  Her house was on 4 foot stilts but not high enough as the water inundated 3 feet of her house, and the home is not salvageable    The house has been there since the 1800's and they have never had water in that area per historical records.  7 feet of water 1 mile from the Ocean...incredible.  Was probably 12-15 at the coast itself.

She is so kind hearted....I answer and she says 'How are you' despite her being in the middle of an incredible crisis.  Not fair.

Major Dam had a catastrophic failure totally washing out interstate 40 and leading to emergency evacuation of whole towns. Every road from north Carolina to Tennessee is either under water or washed out

Helene is going to go down as one of the mostly costly non inflation adjusted Hurricane ever IMO.  150-200 billion.   it is going to make the home insurance situation in Florida even worse.   If you live within 15 miles of the coast in Florida you should probably prepare to self-insure.  They are rescuing people off the top of a hospital in NC.

Here is the view form that hospital I mentioned...taken from the tropical thread.

Alan on X: "View from the roof of Unicoi County Hospital in Erwin, TN where 54 individuals are currently stranded. #HurricaneHelene #tnwx #flooding https://t.co/sdOKva99S6" / X

That's bad. I really hate severe weather i.e. t-storms, lightning, hurricanes.

Did your friend have flood insurance?  With no history of flooding, it may not have been required or offered.
