SATURDAY AFTERNOON FOR EAST CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA...

The National Weather Service in State College has issued a Fire
Weather Watch, which is in effect from Saturday morning through
Saturday afternoon.

* AFFECTED AREA...Montour, Northumberland, Columbia, Dauphin,
Schuylkill, Lebanon and Lancaster Counties.

* TIMING...From Saturday morning through Saturday afternoon.

* WINDS...Northwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 25 to 30 percent.

* IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions possible. Increased
risk for rapid wildfire growth and spread. Prescribed burns may
get out of control.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur due to a combination of strong winds, low
relative humidity and dry fuels. A Red Flag Warning may be
issued.

and wildfire prevention and education, please visit the
Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources

This is like the Nuclear Power Plant Warning that EAS nerds bust out on their YouTube videos. I've never seen that headline before.

If these figures are right and MDT does indeed not reach 50, they will come in tied with the 10th latest date to not reach 50 entering the winter season.  I have been nerding on stats lately and MJS has been gracious in not getting mad :-).   Ha.   About 3/4 of years, MDT has stayed under 50 by some time in October.  Some of this can be attributed to the lack of rain and clouds this year.

Pretty good chance I'll finish this event without a drop of rainfall. Wasn't expecting much at all...but thought I'd get something. MU was right. Again. From this morning:

Light rain will overspread northern MD and the LSV from SW-to-NE between 1:30 to 6 PM this afternoon, but it’s running into very dry air and high pressure over New England. I still don’t expect much east of Rt. 11 and the Susquehanna River. The rain will be largely beneficial.
