Bubbler86
As Blizz mentioned, MDT appears to have broken their no freeze streak. We did with 29 for the low so far here in Rou. 31 down the hill in Waynesboro. "Technically" growing season lives on here. Will have to see how the stuff did when I uncover it in an hour.

I like my winter holidays Thanksgiving/Christmas at least overcast and cool. Typically though, we see rain on the summer holidays and bright, sunny skies on the winter ones... 1

I know high schools in the Allentown area do, but I have never in my life actually witnessed a Turkey Bowl. Do you mean football, or an actual turkey bowl as in bowling. WZZO, the rock station in Allentown, used to hold a literal turkey bowl, where they drilled holes in frozen turkeys and set up pins and a makeshift lane in their parking lot.

ChescoWx
Today was the first day that all locations were below freezing. Here in East Nantmeal Township our low of 27.4 degrees marks the latest first freeze in the last 21 years. The previous latest was November 12, 2016. We should see below normal temperatures through Friday before we warm to slightly above normal by the weekend. We have a slight chance of showers tomorrow night especially the further southwest you go in Chester County.
Bubbler86
Only the Rgem has a widespread freeze south of Harrisburg tonight and that is concentrated East. I never bet against the rgem with lows though.
Itstrainingtime
First really good, hard freeze of the season at home. Low bottomed out at 26.7, the temp was in the 20s for nearly 5 hours. Up to 30.3 now.

Bubbler86
47 early nooners. Today would have been a terrific day for Turkey bowl whether middle aged people reliving their past football glory or people "rolling" frozen turkeys. Sunny, little wind and upper 40's to low 50's. Bubbler86
12Z GFS dispensed of the long running Hurricane threat and is decidedly colder after the 20th as a trough sets in. it mostly has GEFS support as well. This does come at the expense of beneficial rains with the former offering.
WmsptWx
Has anybody else noticed their furs eating a ton more than normal lately? I have a three-year-old Golden Retriever who is a thicco, probably 115 lbs and a two-year-old Australian Shepherd who is maybe 45 lbs, and I have been going through 14 lb bags of kibble in less than a week, which is a lot more than what they normally consume, and is more than their previous cold season consumption in previous years. The Aussie may simply just be growth, but the Golden has been grown for a bit. Kinda makes me wonder if they know something I don't and are trying to cultivate some additional mass for a longer slug of a season.
Bubbler86
MDT trying to stay in the 40's or lower for the first day since April 5th. 49 right now. Also, 2024 at MDT currently stands solidly in second worst all time for numbers of days 39 and below for a high when looked at over a Calendar year. Still 1.5 months to go before that stat is finalized. Only one of the top 10 occurred prior to 1990. These are TCC like stats but they are real nonetheless. (Edit, MDT did not make it as they climbed into the 50's after this post. They need to record one prior to 11/19 to avoid the record. May get it tomorrow)
