79.5 today which is good for a rounded up 80, although I hate that. I know it's NWS protocol, but in my opinion (which doesn't really matter) you should actually record 80.0 (or any temperature) for it to count as such.

I do not think MDT made 80 but their 78 or 79 is the warmest temp this late in the year in the history of the station.    Once you go down a few degrees it is much more common place though.  MDT has reached 75 twice in Dec on Dec 7th, 1998 and Dec 29th 1984.    Unbelievably a full 1/3 of the days in Dec have reached 70 or above at MDT.

Just now, Voyager said:

It truly feels like a mid summer night outside right now. Complete with chirping crickets.

I have an ice cream man coming through the neighborhood playing music and looking for over heated kids.   What is next, hotdogs, apple pie and a Band Concert at the rotunda Sat afternoon?

62 for the low.....62!  No 32 at MDT within the next 10 days puts them into the top 5 of this list (Column headed with the title First as in First freeze/32 of the season).  The next legit 32 chance at MDT is 10 days out as of today per the GFS.

MDT made 80 yesterday setting the mark for the latest 80 ever in a year.

We should be at least 6 degrees cooler than yesterday and will see the cooling trend last through the weekend. We could see some frost again by Sunday morning. Seasonably cool temperatures in the 50's by Saturday. We also have our best chance of rain since late September by Sunday afternoon into the night. A brief warm up to above normal temperatures to start next week before we trend back to cooler by mid next week.

D2 Takes over much of Lanco.  Marysville defenses cant keep out D1.    The amount of rain on the 10 day GFS will not do much to change these.

Northeast Drought Summary

Temperatures were generally 3-6 degrees above normal for much of the Northeast. Dryness continued, with only some portions of northern New York, New Hampshire, and Vermont recording near-normal precipitation. With the continued dryness, drought issues continue to develop, with abnormally dry conditions spreading through much of New York, Pennsylvania and more of New England. Moderate and severe drought conditions spread over more of eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and eastern Maryland, with extreme drought conditions emerging in southern New Jersey.

Marysville has remained silent recently. They must be real busy bucketing water out of the Susquehanna River, thus no time to get on the forum.
