TheClimateChanger
5 minutes ago, Bubbler86 said: That is not correct. It is frequently rounded. You can keep saying it but you're wrong. The 2:56 pm observation is a METAR report, not a raw 5-minute report [which are reported every five minutes beginning at the top of the hour]. The raw readings are based on the temperature rounded to the nearest degree Celsius, and then converted to Fahrenheit, which is why they can vary +/- 1F from what is reported. METAR observations, on the other hand, report the temperature to the nearest decimal degree Celsius. In this case, the actual [non-rounded] temperature is 27.8C, which converts to 82F. If you still want to persist in your folly, I will bet you $1,000,000 that the high for the day at MDT is at least 82F.

I thought you were saying all the reports were metar. I corrected it before your reply so your internet tough guy routine did not gauge my correction though I did not mean to sound harsh in my response, you did not explain your assertion very well to pinpoint the time. 1

After reviewing everything, I think he is right. I did not know the :56 readings were not rounded. With that said, I would gladly have paid $100 to have MDT come in at 81 for the day. A profit of $999,000.

Bubbler86
64 this AM. Some rain showers around. MDT's 64/65 is higher than the record low for the day but HRRR suggests MDT will drop down below the record of 61 sometime after dark tonight.

The old record was topped by 3 degrees, and this is only the 2nd time post-October 28th that the mercury has reached 84F at the ‘Ville since 1914 (the other being 11/2/1982). #climatology #halloween2024

Mount Joy Snowman
Woke up to the sweet sound of rain early this morning. I have to round up a wee bit but everything is solidly wet so I’m going with .01”. The streak is over here at KMJS. Low of 65. Should be a rock solid weekend before some warmth returns next week. Potentially record breaking again, as the records get weaker.
ChescoWx
After this morning's "sprinkle" event with 0.01" of rain here in East Nantmeal Township that ended our dry streak at 32 days we clear up this afternoon and turn windier and chillier. A slightly chillier than normal weekend ahead before we warm back up to near 70 degrees by Election Day next Tuesday. We cool a bit again by the end of the first week in November. canderson
70 at 10:30. The forecast high of 74 seems ... low. Although winds have kicked up into the 20s so maybe that stops the heating?

I find that I sometimes can't get to the third beer in one sitting, so I stand up and go use the restroom, before going on to 3 and maybe 4.
