Thank you. I was starting to wonder if I was watching what everyone else has been.

I honestly wish they would have both of them on the field together more often. And not putting Drew out as a receiver. Not sure that fools anyone. If you have both them and Warren on the field at the same time, the defense would have no idea what the hell was going on.

I absolutely love that Pribula passed so well on Saturday.  If I'm Franklin, I'm using both quarterbacks and no one will know when.  OSU will have to game plan for both this week, so confuse them as much as possible.

As has been the case many times this month...many locations below 500 feet ASL saw freezing temperatures this morning. While most spots above 550 feet fell to no lower than the mid to upper 30's. The lowest temp I found was the 26.7 at Warwick and the warmest was 44.5 at West Grove. Today begins a warming trend that will take us through Halloween. We should peak in the upper 70's on Thursday before falling back to closer to normal levels to start November.

I believe this will just be my second October, since moving back in 2018, without hitting the 20's one night and that that was October 2021 where I hit the 20's in early Nov.  No sign of a first freeze for elevated locales down here.

I have been here since 2004 and in only 7 of those 21 years have I had a 1st freeze in October. Below are all other spots sorted by elevation in Chester County

Low of 32.  Halloween record still on watch with a projected high of 80.

Late to the party here, but when it comes to the whole Drew/Beau debate, I think two things can be true: (1) that it is reasonable to believe that on a down-to-down basis the offense is capable of moving the ball more consistently with Pribula at the helm, due to his superior athleticism and running ability, and (2) that over the long run, for this team to go where they want to go they need Drew running the show.  For all that Beau brings to the table, I'm not sure he has full command of the entire offense the way Allar does, and he is certainly more limited through the air.  He doesn't have the arm Drew does and the ball seems to come out of his hand funky more often than not.  He played great Saturday night but I also believe he benefited from some easy throws and a couple of balls that were fortunate to not have been picked or deflected.  It's also an entirely different animal to come into a game late and run all over a somewhat beleaguered defense who hasn't prepared for you.  If teams have a whole week to game plan for Beau I think things could look more difficult for him, as they squeeze the field on him and force him to make down the field reads and go over the top.  The box will certainly be loaded more than it already is.  All that to say, I love them both and hope they can find ways to more regularly get both involved in the game plan, but Drew has to be the guy this year.  He has grown up immensely and I've been especially impressed with his pocket presence and awareness.  This is his team.  Should be a fun ride either way.

I would not think too much of it if it were not for the lack of a solid first freeze chance coming in the next 2 weeks.  Maybe Sat Am will surprise.

I know somebody said it felt warmer this month than the numbers bear out. Not sure if it's the same in Harrisburg, but I saw this graphic from NWS Pittsburgh. You can see highs have averaged a whopping 6F above normal, but lows have been less than 1.5F above normal, making the mean temperature lower than it might seem.

For MDT it hasn't been nearly that extreme, with highs just 2.6 AN and lows dead-on average, leading to an overall 1.3 AN departure.

A frosty low of 29.3 here this morning, tying @Itstrainingtime.  This was my first temp below 30.0 degrees this season.  It also was the third sub-freezing low of the month, the others being 31.6 yesterday morning, and 31.8 back on the 17th.

>>I've only recorded 0.42" of rainfall this month.  If there is nothing for the rest of the month, this will be the driest month I have ever recorded since I began keeping precip records back in 1987 in NJ.  The previous driest month on record has stood for 36 years and was recorded in December of 1988 with a total of 0.63".  That was a frigid month and a very dry month.  All of the precip that fell that month (what little there was) was in the form of snow.  The only liquid precip was recorded beginning around 8:00pm on the 31st when a snow to rain event took place.  I was four hours short of recording my first month where all recorded precip was frozen.

If we get to either record (Wed or Thur, both 81) that would take a high of 20AN which does not happen too often in October though surely not unheard of...would be an additional anomalous event/figure.

Hope the PSU fans are enjoying the ride.  No NCAA Team looks truly dominating so you have as much as chance as anyone else as of now.

so much for @Atomixwxpot plants. How will this affect his posting?

I switched to growing reefer in my toilet back in the early 2000s after spending a weekend with a Honduran migrant named Isabel. She sold me on two things:

1) Federales aren't likely to come sniffing around if you don't have any gangster shit going on outside.

2) Leaf tickles the perineum during toilet time, which is a nice accoutrement to an otherwise less-pleasant experience.

So the product smells like shit? When has it EVER smelled good?

Terrific thundersnow in that storm. There’s a great Cantore video of him at the Capitol when it happens.

Blizzard of 83 was my favorite snow event of all time, until that October event. Yes I’m old.

I’ve seen 7’ of snow in Lackawanna, NY during the 2014 event, and that Halloween event surpasses it.

Mine too! During the that storm I measured 5" in one hour from 4pm to 5pm. I rank February 1983 just ahead of February 1978.
