jeffb1124
Right outside of Middletown. Just had the most intense storm in years. Large hail, tons of sky to ground lightning and over an inch of rain. And just loss power.

I had my windows open right as this storm blew up over me and some of the thunder was right on top of me. Just as I closed them the heavy rain and hail started. Voyager
Congrats to everyone who got a good storm last night. That whole complex stayed west of me. No lightning, no thunder, no wind, and most definitely.....no rain.
Bubbler86
Around .25" here and about 1.5" since August 9th. Short term models did well with the 2-3" lollipops in Adams and York County. MDT picked up 2.2" and is no longer in competition for one of the driest Sept's in the record books.
mahantango#1
What a storm last night around 11pm. Continuous lightning, wind and heavy rain. 1.18 rain from that thunderstorm 1.41 rain total overnight. Power still off est. Time to restore 12pm today. What caused these storms to be so intense in late September and so late at night?

The approach of the left exit region of a relatively strong upper level jet on Saturday will combine with moderately high sfc dewpoints in the low to mid 60s (with corresponding PWAT of around 1-1.25 inches) to spark an area of showers/scattered embedded TSRA that could bring localized damaging straight-line wind gusts and hail, mainly in the late afternoon/early evening hours across much of Central PA and the Susq Valleys per clustering/mean of high res models.

There should have been a warning for the storm at my place last night. Was starting to get worried about that wind during the storm.

This time it came through very much as modeled.
