Bubbler86 Posted September 20 Share Posted September 20 Some progs are just an all-out rainy weekend starting afternoon Saturday through all of Sunday....as the LSV gets into the periphery of the influence from the coastal low. Other are more convection based. Fingers crossed our dry spell ends this weekend. MDT has been on a heater of late with 7 of the last 8 days AN and the current monthly average has dipped down to just -1/1 BN after the chilly start to the month. Still only .16 of qpf for the month. ChescoWx Posted September 20 Share Posted September 20 Today and tomorrow look like our last above normal temperature days for a while with highs both days well into the 70's at higher spots with low 80's at some of the valley locales. Highs starting Sunday through Thursday will mostly remain in the 60's. Rain chances finally look more likely by later Tuesday through Wednesday. The approach of the left exit region of a relatively strong upper level jet on Saturday will combine with moderately high sfc dewpoints in the low to mid 60s (with corresponding PWAT of around 1-1.25 inches) to spark an area of showers/scattered embedded TSRA that could bring localized damaging straight-line wind gusts and hail, mainly in the late afternoon/early evening hours across much of Central PA and the Susq Valleys per clustering/mean of high res models. Interesting. That doesn't match the current zone forecasts. Here's mine for Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 80. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Saturday Night A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 8pm and 2am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
