Already 1/3 of an inch here, and I haven't even gotten into the "good stuff" for more than a few minutes.   This is not how convection usually behaves here after dark, but the shortwave looks great in the guidance.   Should be some very impressive totals in north-central and northeast MD overnight.

There was a definitive hook as that complex crossed into Maryland. I would not be surprised if we see a report of a brief touchdown in Southern PA tomorrow morning. Seems to have developed into a more of a squall line at this juncture.

Reports of damage outside York.

Impressive marine blanket of clouds over the area right now.  We're really good at that when we get an onshore flow.  Visited LA (the traffic is real) and SD area on my last visit...the marine layer is pretty standard out there, but you could see the blue tint in the sky as it thinned out by mid-late morning.  Looks like this has potential to be an extended cloudy pattern, though at least it's not cold...I'm not ready for that yet.

Yea, this is a “congrats, further east crew” type of a setup. Need more of a southerly/easterly component to cancel out the downsloping…or so it seems.

It was kinda surprising to see the southern valley areas do OK with this.  Even here, there were solid storms just to my south.  I knew I wasn't getting much when I saw that radar NW trajectory.  For whatever ridge-effects, that never works here.  But sometimes works just south and north of me.
