A few months of dews is fine by me. Gets old by September through, especially 75 degree ones.

Yeah you def notice a distinctive heaviness to the air once we go above 70. For me, it’s just the vibe of being able to walk around in light clothing with very little discomfort, unless you happen to be doing intense activities outside. I’m a little more biased since when I’m out I tend to sit out with a nice cold drink and soak up the sun or I’ll take a nice slow walk in the woods with the old doggie. I always try to think of this weather relative to what we typically have  in say mid January and it’s a world of difference for enjoying time outdoors, especially if you’re a slow mover like myself.

How much rain did you have over June July and August? A boatload right?

Yes .No drought at all but with more than half my lawn newly seeded in spring , it has to stay moist . I’ve got a guy coming next week for over seed/ slit seed . It’s gotten dry short term and for lawns , that’s no bueno

Any details about next weekend? It's county fair time and it's much easier if it isn't in pouring rain. Normally at least one day it's bucketing but it would be nice if everything wasn't muddy ruts from trucks and trailers.

What fair?

Great late summer day.  Twas' definitely on the humid side doing chores but nice.

Not everyone here will find this amusing but... I went to a cookout and I was talking to a MA state trooper.  We were casually discussing his job and I joked about profiling vehicles on I-91.  He said, with no hesitation, outside of obvious red flags, on weekends they mainly focus on CT/NJ plates.

I'll have to keep that in mind on my trips to the Cape.  A neighbor on the Cape has a son who is a trooper.  He said you're basically OK on I-90 as long as you're not going over 80.  If it's raining, you can go as fast as you want- "a good cop is a dry cop."

I-91 from Northampton to St Johnsbury is basically, "keep it under 80mph and you are good".

edit:  Based on my experiences and advice from LE friends.

Yeah.  I usually set my cruise control to 74 in a 65, figuring the rule "over 10" applies.  But doing so, I constantly run up to cars that must set theirs at 73.

All that is to say: GWLH.

Last month's numbers - first BN month (by a whisker) since last November.  First 4 days were +7.4, next 27 had -1.1.

Avg max:   72.6     -2.2   Warmest, 84 on the 2nd
Avg Min:    55.1      +2.1    Coolest, 42 on the 30th
Mean:        63.8     -0.16

Precip:      5.65"    +1.56"   Wettest day(s),  1.43" on the 9th; 1.42" on the 15th.
We had continuous thunder from 6-10:30 PM on the 14th, starting with some spectacular C-C bolts 6-7, and 2 more hours more
on the next morning, none closer than one mile but quite noisy.

JJA had very similar precip:   5.74"/5.58"/5.65"

I used to do that but I now have been setting it at 79 on the pike.  Have been doing that for 5 years with no issues.  It sounds like troopers validate that strategy.

Ha,  all the tourists lined up at the summit of MWN to get their picture at the stake with a light windbreaker on.

37F  Wind 42 gusting 54mph

And bragging about it when they get home.

Some showers in the mountains - wonder if MWN gets a few pingers.
