Absolutely the best September in years. Pool up to.69⁰ love it

If there is a time for dry warmth… it’s this time of year.

It softens the blow of the decreasing sun angle too. We are maximizing sunshine and warmth during a time when the days start shortening more rapidly.

Also the vegetation is going dormant soon.  It may look burnt, but grasses are hardy.  NE vegetation can take a dry month or two on the backend of the season… after a wet summer.

It is a time to get outdoors.

I feel the same way…the last 4-5 weeks have been outstanding to say the least.  Gorgeous warm days and cool cool nights.  Hard to beat. In fact, it can’t be beat if you’re looking for nice weather.

According to CoCoRAHS, there's only a handful of stations in NE that have > 1" this month - they're all either north/west of PF or isolated stations in RI.  Nada elsewhere.  Lines up with these maps, too.  brutal.

Only 0.09" so far here.  We're in the .1-.25 color - close enough.  Average thru 9/17 is 1.84".  I hope we get siggy rain before major leaf drop; could get some serious brush fires otherwise if we get a windy day with all that crispy fuel on the ground.  Maybe my brother in Leland NC (10" over the past 2 days) could send some.

No comment about the damaging 0Z GFS run? That's a huge Phil from FL to NE. 1960 redeaux?

Be nice to have something like that happen…but as Scott said, it’s still a ways out there.  Hopefully something comes of it.  Maybe the 0z was that twinkle out there that the real big ones produce way out in time, as Tip likes to mention?   We can only hope.
