buckeye
hopefully we can get something with the front coming through, although it's like spitting on sand at this point. Our drought is getting insane. Pretty sure large areas of our lawn are not just dormant but completely dead and will need replaced. This reminds me of the summer of '88 in southern OH....but it's actually worse. weatherbo
First serious taste of Autumn today.... mid to upper 40's all day with .25 of lake effect rain off a due north flow. With clouds and showers tonight, lows should only fall to the upper 30's.

Brian D
Chilly a.m. with near record/record lows across the Northland. Duluth 34 3rd, I-Falls 32 T3rd, Hibbing 30 T1st with 1986. 30 was the record low at all 3 sites for Sept 7. DLH issued freeze warnings yesterday for interior NE MN as more modelling data came in during the day. Initially they just had frost advisories. Temps were running from the upper 20's-low 30's away from the Lake, low 40's near the shore.

Yeah this pattern is pretty ugly. No rain in sight, and will take the 0.00" for September to the end of the month.

Brian D
Just noticed a couple new icons in the like bar. I think those new ones will get a lot of use. LOL! After some cool wx, a nice stretch of summery wx on tap. That's great! Get plenty of colder wx here in the N areas, so any extension of the warm stuff is most welcome. Speaking of Summer, prelim data is in for Aug. Landed a little above average, so far anyway. And summer was above normal, being driven mainly by June's higher anomaly. 5 & 10 yr charts shown respectively. 1

Looking a hair under record territory The one good news about heatwaves as we move later into September is the dew points don’t usually creep as much into the uncomfortable category. Most of the corn is in the drying/dying phase by now. That being said this upcoming work week will feel uncomfortable after this recent pleasant stretch. Made it to 79 here today. Spartman
Models hinting a blocking pattern over the weekend as soon as the remnants of TS Francine arrive and stall through early next week, resulting in what's going to be a pretty dreary stretch. IWXwx
At least Francine should bring a little drought relief to the Mississippi Valley and perhaps the extreme southern part of the sub. Southern Ohio wants a right turn signal. The ULL could create a sit and spin scenario.
