Spartman
Did sneak in one more 90-degree day earlier before the clouds rolled in. That's it on the 90s for the year. 45 minutes ago, bowtie` said: KIND is along that same number. IMBY only 0.02". Not quite killing it but at least things are very temporarily damp. Baum
For Chicago peeps ck out the morning LOT AFD on tonight's heavy rain threat. Izzi going full Izzi in warm season mode is a rarity. I suspect the next shift can fix it.

Brian D
Chilly morning with temps running in the upper 20's-mid 30's across the area., with 40's closer to the Lake. Milder temps coming up mid week for a few days. No rain either. 0.06" for the month so far (3.53" Sept avg), and no rain till the end of the month would make this a record for TH. 0.26" in 1948 is the current record. TheClimateChanger
September off to an absolutely scorching start in the Ohio Valley. Really living up to its billing as the new summer month. The first 22 days of the month have been warmer than the vast majority of Julys based on average high temperature! TheClimateChanger
Similar story in Chicagoland, where the mean high temperature has been the 5th warmest in the threaded record.

At the airport site, only 19 years [in 90 years of records] had more. Not a bad number. Would only be expected to be exceeded in about 1 of every 4 to 5 years based on historical records. No doubt being situated at 1,000+ feet helps keep these down. The 49 observed at Hamilton (Butler County) [elevation: 600 feet] is probably more representative of the conditions in the city of Dayton and the Miami River valley. Lightning
Event total that past 3 days = 0.17". Might get a couple hundredth tonight but nothing more based on radar. Local bust for me but many areas did much better. September total = 0.31". Each model run seems to be trending drier and keeping this tropical system just south of here. Hoping it changes as I know the model do like to change but not counting on it. September may have been my best summer month of 2024 with countless sunny warm days. Of course I was only home maybe 4 weeks total all of June, July and August.
OrdIowPitMsp
Minneapolis is still at 0.06” month to date with nothing in the extended forecast. Pretty crazy to see a near total precipitation shutout during the warm season. On this date in 1985 Minneapolis saw 0.4” of snow, which is the earliest measurable snowfall on record for the city.

October is looking to start off mild and dry here too.
OrdIowPitMsp
@TheClimateChanger will like this one. Not only is this going the be the driest September on record but also the warmest, breaking a record that only stood for a year.
