I've hinted on this for a while, but the pattern turns colder starting 12/1, and there's potential for a snow event here on 12/4 or 12/5.

Just a thought...."Greater Philadelphia Area (here)"  isn't really a location. It would be best to be more exact in your profile so others would have a idea what area you are speaking about...

lol, it's not going to snow on Friday. The odds of that happening are about the same as Patriots winning the Super Bowl this year or the PDO flipping to positive this winter.

In Philly? Yeah it’s not happening. But I do think the Lehigh Valley sees flakes and the Poconos get some accumulation.

Right on time, as predicted in my forecast last month. I said the 15th a little early. I am still going with my original thoughts, moderate rains after mid Novmeber, a 1-3 inch snow event around Thanksgiving and then the arctic air invades after Dec 7

The real concern I have about this winter is that we haven't seen @Ralph Wiggumyet. He usually posts his thoughts by now.  Maybe he thinks it's an 01-02, 11-12 redux lol

I dunno. Seems last 10 years have been a total crapshoot. Seasonal analogs haven't been very useful tbh. If I were to guess, we get chances early but deal with the usual when Atlantic Ocean is roasting...weak waves sliding South = cold enough but dryish, anything even slightly amped torches BL type stuff. I want to say we're due but the WDI is pretty irrelevant. Peak solar activity and Nina would traditionally spell a trainwreck but like I said, past analogs haven't been very helpful.

Today will be our last sunny day of the work week. We stay mild with highs well into the 50's both today and tomorrow before a shift to chillier air, much needed significant rain and even some snow depending on elevation across the County by Friday. Rainfall amounts could reach near 1 inch across the area - which would be our wettest stretch since the event since the 1.48" of rain that fell between September 25th thru 28th.

I don't want to put my exact location.

What I can tell you is that it's still too early to pinpoint exactly where the snow will be. My gut says the mid-Atlantic. However, I can tell you that the first ten or so days of December is going to be below average for most of the Eastern US.

Hot damn, my 40 day forecast is coming to fruition. Moderate rains then a light snow event for Thanksgiving time frame.  Whats wrong guys, have heard you naysayers lately saying how my forecast form  October was a bunch of sh*t.  I just hope we get the rain.

Okay, kind of paranoid IMO. No one is going to know where you live by giving out a township, borough etc. Greater Philadelphia Area is kind of useless...

Yep I agree, seasonal forecasting is a crapshoot more now than ever. Encouraging though that it's looking like we should start with a good pattern towards the end of the month/beginning of december. The pieces are there to get on the board early. Good to see you back buddy, your annual return is one of the signs I look for that winter is coming :snowman:

I don't know, I've been worried that Greenskeeper is going to show up in Levittown with the hot dog gun that the Phanatic carries to hunt me down.

I'd be stoked just to track a cloud. Sunny, 53F.

I'm not a big "sunny all the time" kinda guy. Squint too much and driving can be a PITA when you make a turn and get drilled in the eyes. Like some clouds drifting by time to time or my favorite, overcast with pending precip...

When I was working in Horsham, I'd drive straight down Rt63. As I'm sure you're aware, it's aligned perfectly with sunrise in the fall and spring. (Must have been built by the Aztecs.) If I end up with cataracts one day, I'll know why.  :oldman:

Know it well. Happened as well when I lived in Limerick/Royersford area and heading to work on Rt422E at sunrise doing 70mph then right over a hill...BAM, blinded. Many of the backups on that road in the morning were because of the sun. Then to make matters worse, accidents would happen. I would easily take a cloudy day/snow covered road then that sun crap...
