Pity drops here with an amazing sunrise. Bottomed out at 66F.

same here in Macungie. All this shower did is form dust concrete  on the car again. Car washes will be busy  for the next few days, as everyone keeps using water. Another near 80 degree day when the sun pops out this afternoon will get irrigation methods going today as many thought this shower would be more. This social cycle of having clean cars green lawns etc  will drain our water supplies so dam fast as  PADEP is oblivious to the public demands when it comes to using water.

Finally getting actual droplets from the sky.  It's a miracle.  Probably will end up unmeasurable but at least a trace since I didn't get that last trace that came through, and this has wet the car windshield and is somewhat wetting the sidewalk.

Currently drizzling and 67 with dp 60.

My sentiments as well. Stepped outside to feel the rain drops, nice, Wow, etc, lol. Even have some wet surfaces. I'll take it as a good sign that with a 20% chance and many models showing zip, we're actually getting rain. Woohoo!

After this morning's "sprinkle" event with 0.01" of rain here in East Nantmeal Township that ended our dry streak at 32 days we clear up this afternoon and turn windier and chillier. A slightly chillier than normal weekend ahead before we warm back up to near 70 degrees by Election Day next Tuesday. We cool a bit again by the end of the first week in November.

Yep, sun about to pop out and send temps into the upper 70's. Remember when there used to be cold behind November cold fronts??

Sure do.  Huffy bike paper route flinging papers while the gust/colder weather moved in during the Fall months. Witness quite a bit weather changes over them years while heaving papers...

Last night was the worst Halloween weather ever. I would have dreaded trick and treating in that slop...mid-upper 70s, Spring-ish. I had some nice ones growing up, Halloween, overcast, 50's and windy while going door-door at night. No parents walking along w/us on the pavement. Just free as a crow till my pillow cases were full and heavy. And bonus for Catholic schools, had off next day, "All Saints Day"....

well PADEP finally got off its ass this afternoon and placed most areas under a drought watch.  The drought warning counties should have been  extended to Lehigh and Montgomery counties as well as several areas in those couties are already have montoring wells at emergency levels.

PA Declares Drought Conditions in 35 Counties.

A whopping trace of rain here this morning.

Do we have any officially reports the best I think we could do here in Media was a trace.  I mean this dry period is dreadful and now we are set to add another 10 days to it with the only hope a storm along a front come Sunday, November 10th, but we know it is 9 days out and what can happen.... what could go wrong??

Winter is slowly but surely getting squashed into a 2-month season rather than three. Highly disappointing. Hate to even type this, it's 71° on November 1st at 6:45 p.m. ... Sunset.

We’ve had warm Halloweens and even Novembers but not often this much record approaching.

3 alarm brush fire in New Hope, we are becoming the new California

Red flag warning here. Hell, I'll take a brush fire at this point. I can cross that off my list. Need a tornado as well... Earthquake was crossed off earlier this year.

I didn’t feel the earthquake even though many in the Philly area did. Personally afraid of tornadoes - lol.

The sad thing about this pattern is that everybody in the country has been losing (if you don't like drought, that is).

From the Inquirer:

"The U.S. Drought Monitor on Thursday classified more than 85% of the country as “abnormally dry,” the highest percentage since it began keeping track in 2000."

We start off November with temperatures near to below normal this weekend. We could see another freeze in the typically colder lower spots and frost in ridge locations overnight tonight and again on Sunday night. We warm back into the low to mid 70's by Wednesday before another cool down toward the end of the week.

South America and specifically the Amazon rain forest was in drought over the summer, not sure if the rains returned there.

Below is the Climate Summary for Chester County PA for October 2024. Of 18 reporting stations 12 finished with above normal temperatures and 6 with below normal temperatures. Overall we finished at 1.8 degrees above normal for October. This is the first month since July that we finished with overall above normal temperatures in the County. It was for most locations one of the driest Month's on record with most spots recording no rain at all.
