HRRR/RAP say there should be a lot coming later today/tonight and there’s a lot of T-storm activity over PA. Just have to see what happens. Many ways a summer T-storm relying rain event can fail.

Nasty storm here in sw suffolk, constant cg lighting, some 40 mph wind gusts and rainfall rates of a few inches an hr. Probably a top 3 storm over the past few years here.

You can see the northward drift on that line over Mercer, Southern Middlesex and northern Monmouth Counties. It also looks like storms might be trying to develop just north of that line of training storms so areas further north should start to get into it over the next couple of hours. We'll see.

So close as the line is just south of me as very dark sky and hearing the thunder along with seeing the lightning.

Edit as now getting some rain so on very northern edge of that training line.

That's quite a line of heavy rain to our south with training going on. We'll have to see if the models are right about new storms forming over our area in the next 1 to 2 hours. Looks like it should happen.

We got some nice gusts on the backside here in Lindenhurst interestingly enough, probably around 40 mph or so, when it first came in there wasn’t much wind

Sounds legit. The storms really blew up as they pushed through here, which is in relatively close proximity to Gilgo and Oak.
