Hrrr is insistent a storm rolls through HoCo between 20-21z

After a very dry last half of August, the GFS has been insisting for the past 24 hrs. that much of west central Virginia turns wet from August 29 - Sept. 10.

Now, the 12z NAM 12 likes 24 - 84 wet.

Same! Some "soothing" thunder along with some gusty winds and a somewhat impressive gully-washer shot of rain...SOLD! Made it home from my "workday on post" at Fort Belvoir, with about 2 min to spare to race around the back patio covering all of the furniture and grill, stowing the electricals (e.g., fan, speakers), etc. It would probably be a pretty funny video if someone had been filming me...

Might actually get a touch of rain here in Frederick. It's trying to die before it gets here, but it should drop a little bit before it does. Warm and muggy out 85/73

I was just thinking the same thing. It's weird elongated training but fast moving from the NNW. Weird

This right here.  This is so stupid.  No kid should have to get on a bus before 6:45... I also hear that is one of the later ones too.

Got my east stretch. Just light rain with occasional thunder.

Lucking out in Columbia with the narrow cell.  Looks like best part of cell is approaching. Light rain and thunder so far last 15 mins.

Woo that Adelphi split is brutal. Hoping I get clipped by the showers passing through Columbia. Lawncare people planted seed and arrogated at the beginning of this brutal dry spell. Perfect timing. Now I have showers missing me.

We’re generally awful at normal now. We need either hurricane remnants or a blizzard lol.

Heaviest skirted us to the west but we still beat @MN Transplant

Indeed..we had a 30-40 min hard/steady rain...maybe it'll green things up come tomorrow, but it was certainly enough to wash the dust off my car.

Surprisingly it doesn't feel as humid as it did last evening. Next week looks great. Sunny, temps below 80 and lower humidity. We just need to get past the next few days.

Ended with about 0.6" yesterday here in my little corner of Burke. Quick hitter, but it dumped.

Hoping we have decent weather for the last weekend of the neighborhood pool, then next week it's looking like an acceptable week for the pool to be closed (seems like it's always the other way around!).
