Incredible heat. What’s driving it? It doesn’t seem like the upper level pattern is that extraordinary?

DCA stayed at 100F or more from 1250pm to 545pm - insane.

Yea that's 100% airmass, not sensor placement.

+24 air at 850, and nearly +30 air at 925 will do that.

Curious to see how the storms now in MoCo end up missing me.

I too am waiting to be impressed at the Matrix-like dodge it’s about to do

Derecho day was still 103 at 6pm, but caught a river wind and dropped to 96 at 7pm.  Bounced back to 98 at 8pm.

MN, do you have any records of your high temperature on Friday, July 19 2019 and possibly what time it occurred?

I'm trying to compare obs in Nova from today vs that day.  If so, it's much appreciated.

I might take the over. +EPO patterns (500mb low over Alaska) usually bust a few degrees warmer from this range. Only way we stay under 103-104 in DC I think is if precip tomorrow interferes. 100 today and the pattern is only getting warmer..

+EPO patterns always bust higher.. especially in the Wintertime

95.2 at 2:19pm.  From the solar measurements it looks like some clouds developed.  DCA was similar.
