2.00” total here

1.63” fell last evening between 8:30 - 10

73/72

Wow you (Rockville) lucked out bigtime!  I only got 0.05 last evening for a total of 0.45 for the event.  That strip of MontCo from Potomac to Olney did great while most of the rest of the area did terrible.  I wasn't expecting much but I can't believe how AA Co and other east areas got robbed so bad

I's sitting at just 0.6 for July so I'm watering the gardens heavily heading into a nasty heatwave followed by a dry cold front passage

Nothing water-wise here, and IF it happens probably won't be much. Of course, each raindrop counts once it gets dry... Currently partly cloudy and 63.6/60.2.

Well, predicted that one lol. 0.00 Least it was cloudy at times and helped keep us in the low 80's for a high.

Random but looked at July 2000 (IAD) and oh man it must have been nice:  only one 90-degree day (91), 10 highs below 80, and 7 nights in the 50s (with lowest of 50)  Departure of -5.4 and 4.28 rain.  And look at this stretch:

2000-07-23 78 60 69.0 -8.4 0 4 0.00 0.0 0
2000-07-24 71 64 67.5 -9.9 0 3 0.24 0.0 0
2000-07-25 77 62 69.5 -7.9 0 5 0.00 0.0 0
2000-07-26 71 64 67.5 -9.8 0 3 0.20 0.0 0

Sun coming out now - planning on cooking out later as it will "only" be about 90 today

What's the local groundwater look like ? It has to be worse than last year..

Believe it or not, the USGS test well about 15 miles north of Waynesboro at 310 ft. is about the same as July 15 of 2023.  The water table has fell about 6 ft. since May 25 but is 15 feet above mid November of 2023.

That 6-10 day looks good and has above rainfall as well, but I remember how bad that 6-10 performs in winter.  It's worse than the Euro

Sunny 87/72

If we had received the predicted rainfall from the 6-10 or 8-14 during the past 6 months, we would not be in drought.

This is a classic summer day filled with cumulus clouds, the humidity is typical, the sun is shining…and it’s not oppressively hot. We haven’t a lot of these days this year…I’m soaking it in.

Issuing a FSW (Flash Sprinkle Warning) for my area. Currently sprinkles are falling, and looking at radar, these sprinkles are likely to continue and MAY even cause objects to completely turn wet.

LOL, I sarcastically spoke too soon, wow. Actual storm blew up right over top of us, sitting at a tenth (0.10) and still raining.  :) Temp down to 77.7 from 88.2.

The forecast this morning was 88/89 I believe.  It hit 97

It went up to 96 imby today. Supposed to be only 91.

After getting whiffed on rainfall this weekend, I wouldn’t be surprised if mby overperforms on temps the next few days until precip chances increase.
