So much for this breaking the drought  hoping radar fills in but looks to be going the wrong way

Every time it's been dry like this and a large amount of rain is promised it always massively underperforms.

I heard that some places only got 5 percent of what was forecasted.

Models yesterday gave me up to about 1.75" rain by 5pm today. I have had 0.10".

Take a ride out here then.

The South River is a tributary the the Chesapeake. I live right near it. The watershed at its headwaters is completely dry. Non of the creeks are running. I've never seen that before. I've lived in the area my entire 46 years of life. I'd say it's a drought. Even native plants are dying.

0.01 today - Wow will actually get 2 full months since "May 18th " of one of the hottest summers in the last few decades with 1.26 total.

Actually amazing and concerning - especially since this area also suffered severe drought for a large portion of last year...

I know alot of the conversation on here revolves around the continuation of the big city snow drought along I95, but this prolonged precip drought in the agriculture region of the Valley is more concerning...

So I was right? That big slug was false hope?

Seems like it. When the big slug this morning was a fail, I figured the slug for this evening would probably go the same route.

Yea. . . What a colossal failure by all guidance. Just wow.

Models still have a ways to go.  Issues in the winter, issues in the summer. Euro is a mess.

When did the Euro go down the tubes? A decade ago it was near infallible.

I’ve been preferring the GFS for precip for awhile now, at least since I started practicing forecasting. I really dislike when they all depict different solutions, I just don’t know how to handle that yet outside of a few hours.
