According to IEMBot, we average less than 100 degree reading per year at BWI, DCA, and IAD. We've already chalked one up at each site.

99 at DCA and BWI. 98 IAD. We just missed.

Tomato plants, cucumber, zucchini are getting fried pretty badly. I'm going to replant the garden in a couple weeks. Growing season goes into Nov in our new climo, so why not. 99/79 with no chance of rain any time soon. Just waiting on water restrictions to shut my business down. Looks like the same places that just had rain are getting more. DC area can't catch a break.

I have done everything i could do to prevent tomato plant fungus, ie, early blight and seporus or whatever it is called.

Water by the roots with no spashing, spreadthe plants apart for air flow, pruning the bottom leaves,  put straw under the plant canopy to avoid dirt splashing up spreading fungus spores, and even with all of that I have bad tomato blight already. Been using a cooper spray and it might be helping but today took a turn for the worse.

I believe the high dew point and temps do not help at all.

Action news in Philly stated three nights ago that in 2024 Philly is experiencing Richmond's climate and Richmond is experiencing Charlotte's climate everything is shifted South by 200 miles.  Ugh.

When is your AC scheduled to be repaired?

Parts don't get here until Friday by 9 p.m. according to tracking information.

Not good.

I finally ordered a window AC for my bedroom. While the main central AC is fixed - it really only does well int he basement and 1st floor. My bedroom has been getting into the mid 80s. I took out my old unit a year or two ago to prevent the annual onslaught of bees, bugs and wasps...but I"m surrendering to them. I'll try to seal it better and maybe spray some Suspend Polyzone around the window and unit.

It's an LG 8000BTU Dual Inverter.

High of 97.2 here today dew point is still in the high 70s.

Another day with highs in the upper 80s in Florida. I left a few days before the June heat wave began. Talk about good timing. :)

For all the talk about how warm Atlantic SSTs are, they are still not really comparable to all the ridging happening up north and on the West Coast. Maybe the AMO is not decadal, and it's just a reflection of warmer global conditions..

See if I can’t tie or break 85 at midnight and/or 78 for an overnight

saw a 113 index somewhere this afternoon

I believe it - DCA maxed out at 110 I believe (at least on the hourly ob).  Here we were between 110 and 115 most of the afternoon.

Right now Quantico is 88/80 with a HI of 104.  Nasty stuff.
