Eskimo Joe
Pretty impressive heat. With the exception of Frostburg station, every mesonet station statewide had a low of 70° or greater. So much for my initial thought of a summer that wasn't going to be hot.

Get me out of this subtropical shithole lol Right! I've gotten to where I really hate the 6 months of dead looking bare trees with dreary, drizzly 40s and 50s. We're retiring soon and if we're gonna have hot summers, well give me a longer growing and gardening season. I know we'll pay in summer further south but the 6 months of coats and dreariness with almost no snow in return has gotten real old 95/74 (105)

North Balti Zen
Yeah, doesn't look especially threatening other than the rumbles of thunder. Maybe some rain when I look southwest of my office toward Catonsville area?
frd
This summer will go down as the summer with the most 90 plus days in DC, Baltimore, Philly and Wilmington DE. Dew point here is 78 presently. what a awful summer in the humidity department and of course the heat as well. All the humidity is causing a variety of fungus issues on plants.

Stormchaserchuck1
Told you guys it would bust warmer.. +EPO patterns are often underestimated on medium range models, especially when coupled with +NAO. As long as it doesn't rain, low pressure over Alaska keeps the ridge progressing higher and higher shorter term..

Tomato plants, cucumber, zucchini are getting fried pretty badly. I'm going to replant the garden in a couple weeks. Growing season goes into Nov in our new climo, so why not. 99/79 with no chance of rain any time soon. Just waiting on water restrictions to shut my business down. Looks like the same places that just had rain are getting more. DC area can't catch a break.

BlizzardNole
Caught the edge of a shower. Not much rain but dropped the temp to 80 That's wild south south of Balt. Says up to 2" has fallen with up to 1.5 more. midatlanticweather
Very cool outflow boundaries showing on radar. Hoping we can get some storms to pop the desert Western Loudoun. 97.5 degrees was the high earlier and the highest HI was 112. Sitting at 94.5 (HI of 107) now and looking at and hoping for the outflow boundary to help with the temps for a bit, but I may be just too far away! 87storms
Today is high on the Scoville unit scale. Looks like I might get clipped by a cell if it holds, otherwise looks like mostly isolated, popup stuff around the area (better than nothing). Frederick (specifically, mby) has done pretty well this year with precip. There's obviously brown patches now, but last year seemed worse up to this point. astarck
A solid 1.5 hours of 99’s on the five-minute obs at DCA. I know those get rounded multiple ways and are likely 98’s, but maybe we snagged a 100 somewhere in there.

We've already chalked one up at each site.
