Brian D
Gonna be a wet start to the month here. Shwrs/stms on tap this coming week. Flood watch out for NE MN for Mon pm - Tues pm. Temps running in the 70's with possible 80's Wed.
mississaugasnow
Looks to be a bit cooler on the upper and eastern Great Lakes than originally thought. Though still above average just not crazy heat.

Brian D
Pleasant, but coolish day to start the month. Mid-upper 60's (upper 50's on the shoreline) at midday. Could reach 70 in town (should inland), but a lake breeze at 10-15 mph keeping temps subdued a bit.
OrdIowPitMsp
Breezy day with winds gusting around 30mph. Storms should fire tonight and start July off on a wet note.

Made 70 today, but stayed around 60 on the shoreline with Lake breeze.

Pepper plants didn't look as good as they had by the end of the day. They are very sensitive to the cold, everything else looked good. Thinking that may be the last real chilly night as the lake is getting warmer and I'm close enough to it to see that influence. This summer tho probably not done with 40's at night. They can be scattered throughout July some years.
Brian D
Heavy rains along the northern half of NE MN. Reports showing between 1-3.5" The 3.5" came in from an area S of I-Falls. 0.25" here in town. Back on June 28, Cook county (Grand Marais/ BWCA area picked up 2+") so they have gotten quite a bit the last few days. There were flooding reports up that way with water overtopping roads then, so probably happening again. That area up there closer to the CA border is the Rainy River Basin, and water levels are currently elevated, but down from the mid-June heavy rain event. Overcast with a light fog/mist at 10:30 am. Should see some breaks in the clouds later. Peeks of sun should bring temps into the mid 70's with a SW wind. Scattered shwrs/stms later this evening possible. Need warm nights for gardens to flourish. June's have always been an iffy month for gardens around here. Usually July is when they take off. weatherbo
Has its pros and cons. Can be worst climo some months and best climo others. Depends on what you like. I don’t care for heat and humidity so I can tolerate some cool days in the summer. I’m here for the winters and peace and quiet anyway.

cyclone77
Dews have shot up from the 50s this morning to the lower 70s currently. Right on the eastern edge of the severe threat. Not really expecting severe but hoping for a decent downpour before the storms crap the bed.
cyclone77
Short term guidance was spot on, as the severe warned band of storms is rapidly crapping the bed right at the MS river.

hawkeye_wx
This evening's heavy rain event was a big bust for the Ames to Cedar Rapids corridor. The line had a break in it that passed directly over me, so I only got 0.38". My daily total is 0.92".
Brian D
Temps here in town made it up to the upper 60's with dews just a couple degrees behind. Overcast, muggy day. Inland made it into the low-mid 70's with dews on it's heels. Batch of showers stayed to my SE, and scattered stuff up N.
