weatherwiz
see some people going wild for NY/PA with severe potential tomorrow. Seems awfully difficult to me to develop strong/severe convection when 700mb temps are warming above +10C through the day. Torrential downpours with thunder...yes. Severe convection ehhhhhh

We’ve dealt with them for 23 years at our home in upstate NY…..this is the worst they have ever been. Vicious.

Often don’t have much issue up here with them (not like down in CT) but this year they are everywhere and on you immediately.

weatherwiz
Just went on a walk to Dunkin. Dews in the 70's don't even feel that humid anymore. Did I get a bit sweaty on the walk back, sure. That is just natural. 70's dews are just another walk in the park. Embrace it, accept it, enjoy it. 3 2

PWM had 84/71 at 11 and 86/73 at noon, down 2° by 1 PM thanks to a south wind. HI at BDL was 101 at 1. Mid 80s and no humidity gauge here but the air is incredibly stuffy. We're in amongst the trees and they must be pumping up the dews. Same here, I've never seen so many, I take the dog out and we get attacked. What would cause an explosion of these damn bugs? Stand still and the deerflies often lose interest, kinda like T-Rex. From how a bite feels, the little beasts' dental equipment must look similar as well, though fortunately much smaller. The worst I've had with deerflies was in NW Maine during hot wx, Walking thru the woods, I'd have hundreds of black things buzzing around me. Most were harmless "sweatlickers" that looked like houseflies, but with the flying circus going on, one couldn't tell which ones had the knives until it was too late. I hate wearing hats when it's hot and every deerfly knows that the whorl of one's hair is a nice easy target. Crush one fly there and a couple dozen more show up for the funeral, and they would all expect a meal. 2 1

jbenedet
5 minutes ago, dendrite said: 10 day record is def doable here. I'm seeing the weekend with 90's on the global ops as well. We will def need some luck on timing for showers Thurs/Friday. That's the risk... The 6z euro op gives us that luck though... If we get that, could pull this out through next Tuesday before ending the streak...
