It must be because the tropics are dead and people need any reason to try and gear towards the expectations many had this season, but I can't believe all the energy being directed towards a tiny cluster of clouds

Reminds me of severe season in Southern New England :)

The Edouard that tracked due north for 2-3 days then made one of the sharpest ever right turns just before impacting the Northeast?

Yep. Some rain and TS winds in SE MA, but otherwise a real tease.

Very choppy at the ocean today! At least the sun finally came back out after a wild night. If it wasn’t so warm you’d almost have me thinking it was early April with a storm like this. I’m totally ready for the hhh to make a comeback after an interesting little interlude!

Nice summer day there, great picture too.

The wild flowers are firing all across the ski trails.  The noise is what’s crazy though.  It’s hard to put into context but it’s thousands and thousands of bees and insects going nuts over what’s likely 100s of acres of wild flowers.  Every single flower has multiple bees or insects enjoying it… and it’s on an enormous scale.  The “buzz” is pretty incredible to walk through.
