Hurricane Beryl - Hurricane Warning - Baffin Bay to San Luis Pass Texas

all thanks to global warming.

Seasons like 2014/2013/2006 will be a thing of the past

I have my doubts as to if global warming will lead to a linear increase in hurricane count... Increases in upper tropospheric temperature may limit hurricanes just as much as increased ocean temperatures fuel them. There may be some crazy years though as things are thrown out of wack

CIMMS automatic Dvorak is impressed.  I'm seeing on Twitter microwave imagery the eye is almost closed.  I lost my NRL Monterey bookmarks.

I get he has good information, only reason I don’t want to just mute or ignore him. I just wish he used words that the 75% or more of us who don’t live on tik tok understand.

Barrett is just saying in millennialspeak, that if Beryl keeps on intensifying like she is and if she strikes the GoM, it will be extremely bad for everyone on the coast all along the GoM. VERY extremely bad. He is also saying that there were no major hurricanes to hit the Lesser Antilles in the past ~ 170 years or so. That was what Barrett meant when he remarked, Not a molecule.

I love millennialspeak, and I am a late baby boomer lmao

Well, baby boomer/Gen X cusp, I guess

So you’re saying it’s going to Hawk Tuah on the gulf coast? Did I do that right?

But sorry to derail what’s becoming a serious storm that I fear most people are gonna get caught off guard by because it’s so early in the season.

What's the max Dvorak you think Beryl would peak at?

If you're going to bring up global warming, you'll need to account for all global tropical cyclones, not just one basin.  All other basins have been completely dead this year and global cyclone frequency has seen no increase over the past 40 years.

a useful link for more info on global warming and hurricanes from the GFDL:
