The temps for highs today have not been posted on facebook? I looked at ABE and Reading. Allentown highs  are Missing as the temps were stuck at 96.8 degrees for hours . Reading at 3-4 hours over 100 dgrees or better.  I think the thermometers burned up  LOL

My high today was almost 104, but apparently I got that backyard heat island thing going. There were plenty of other 100+ readings around me throughout the day though, and it sure felt like it.

we got about 1000 drops- enought to get the ground wet and runoff into the gutter.  Just cranked up the steam. Over 100 degrees today.  As I said a few weeks ago , the lawns are burning up in yellow and the corn is spiking. The hit and miss showers are not doing anything but adding to the humidity. The base flows in the creek are finally starting to drop. Drought conditions will become more evident without significant rains by next Wednesday.

Not even abnormally dry yet they say lol

One last hot day before we cool down tomorrow. While we are still over 2" of rain above normal this year here in Chesco our lawns gardens and many farmers in the county could sure use a little rain, The good news is our best shot for some rain in a couple weeks looks to arrive later today and tonight. After today it look like only one day this week could touch the 90 degree mark again....Wednesday.
Chester County records for today: High 99 degrees at West Chester (1988) / Low 40 degrees also at West Chester (1984) / Record daily rainfall today is the 5.75" from the remnants of Hurricane Agnes back in 1972. Some other daily rainfall from that day across Chester County included 5.63" at Morgantown/Elverson / 5.75" at West Grove / 4.56" at West Chester and 4.98" at Glenmoore,

Ended up with a high of 96 IMBY at around 4:30 pm yesterday and my lightning detector had registered a bunch of strikes between 2 - 4 pm when some kind of pop-up came through to give my Wyndmoor sister about 15 minutes of a shower, which I would guestimate would have probably produced a couple hundredths of an inch.  I didn't get anything measurable IMBY about 2 miles away, so was fringed by it in any case.

It was still 86 here after 10 pm last night and this morning I have only dropped to my current 77 with dp 73, so I know it's steamy out.

Yesterday's high here was 97.2F, which is the highest temp I've recorded since 2018.  The heat index peaked at 109.  It's currently already 81.8F with a dew of 75.  Gonna be nasty today.  Hoping for some proper storms, though.

Got 0.52" last evening.  Looking at some of the reports around my area where some locations reported well over an inch from the isolated cells, I can appreciate the problem the NWS has including forcast rainfall amounts in the summer, when thunderstorms are the the likely source of rain.

I am sorry for being the debbie downer but we are heading into a serious drought. Today was disgustingly hot  near 100 again at the house. I have had not seen this type of hot and dry weather in June since 2011. No rain. The yards are turning yellow  bigtime now and the corn in eastern Berks county is getting its ass kicked. The Little lehigh Creek base flow is falling.  I see no significant rains in the next 10 days. Tomorrow will be a real killer for the vegetation with dry chinook type winds of 25-30 mph with temps in the mid 80's. The radar tonight looks abysmal
