WGAL 8 just had Heagy's Produce on the Newscast.  https://www.facebook.com/heagyspumpkinsandproduce/

They complained that the Great Drought of 2024 caused them to have to truck in water and the costs of pumpkins and mums will be up due to that....but at the end of the day it will not be "too bad".

The latest HRRR says instead of 2-4", I will be watering all weekend.

And I got a whole whopping 0.01" out of that rain event last night. Of course we've done well the past few months in the immediate Tamaqua area, so this is an obs post, not a complaint post, but still, with all that action west of me, it's amazing how it all missed....

Another observation though, too, is that many of the spring locations that we, and another trucking company load out of, are having trouble. The lack of rainfall this year for most locations has them running slow. We can't keep the silos at a decent level throughout the day. Many just can't handle the usual volume of trucks and loads that they usually can during a normal rain year.

@Bubbler86 must have lost power in the Rouzerville deluge this evening.

I bought a generac just so I could keep in communication with the board...so not power issues but did go to sleep early.  Wet and 65 this AM.  I did hear it pouring last night.  Have not walked out to the gauge yet to compare to digital.

Sounds like parts of Perry. Mifflin and another county had catastrophic flooding and severe weather last night as much as 8 inches of rain fell in just 3 hours.

Yes, the news this morning up that way seemed pretty bad with basement, barn & road issues.

Rainfall amounts yesterday were feast or famine. Many locations got 0.00". Others received more than 7" (near Port Royal) as a complex of thunderstorms stalled out over the same area for several hours. Check out the estimated rainfall map (likely too low in some spots)!
