ChescoWx
One more cloudy day today before a great stretch of weather through at least Monday. Cooler starting tonight with some spots in Chester County possibly touching the 50's tonight and tomorrow night. Chester County records for today: High 100 degrees at Phoenixville (1930) / Low 47 degrees at Coatesville (1976) / Rain 5.17" at Nottingham (2021)
Jns2183
1910** - 2023 Annual Snowfall **For my 10 year periods I took annual amounts back to 1889 so my first 10 year period was 1898For Consecutive 10 year decadal totals 1898 - 195962 years of counting (72 of Data)Decadal Min 251.4"Decadal Avg 321.8"Decadal Max 409.4Std Dev 39.981960 - 1969Min 317.1Mean 437.86Max 504.50Std dev 62.68Its mean was +2.90 std devIt's max was +2.38 std devThat's a 1% chance for max0.30% chance for mean. The gamma distribution after fitting gives similar to exact chances. At end of 1969 the std dev from 1898 - 1969 was 59.20For decadal 1898-PresantMean 328.8Min 240.05Std Dev 55.30 (38% jump since before 1960)Our latest decade reading is 258.5The equivalent to 1960s on the bad side would be if for next 10 years our decadal mean dropped to 210.6 (-32%)Our min 181 (-25%)It definitely is possible if our horrid past 5 years doesn't break. The 5 year period ending 2023 was 3rd lowest ever at 95.5" (95.1" 1934) (90.5" 1992). 2024 still technically has a few months where it could snow (mean last 20 yrs: Oct - 0.275 Nov - 1.12" Dec - 4.91" TOT - 6.3 MaxTOT - 14.5") but is sitting at a horrendous 81.9" currently and likely go no higher than 87". In fact if we average If you take that 60s decade outMean 318.04Max 435.4Min 240.8Std dev 40.77While it seems the 2020s I'm making a legit push for the decade opposite of the 1960s with a comparable derth of snow and years like 2023 being the exact opposite of years like 1961 with its 81.7", it still has quite an uphill battle to match the absurdity of the '60s. And even if it does it is not the end of the world. The 1960s came out of nowhere and went and those who lived through it thought it was ushering a new era of snow. They were wrong. Itstrainingtime
As of right now, I do not have one single day in my forecast from CTP with a high at 90+. Every day going forward is projected to be in the 80s. And I live in the hot box.
mahantango#1
I don't need any more rain at my location for at least 4days. With over 2 and a half inches that fell this week plus I was pumping water out of the creek to water the garden before we got this rain. Now the garden is saturated and there is water laying at various spots in the garden.

WmsptWx
It's been a gorgeous few days in between the much needed rain. My yard is almost all the way back. We're going to pay for this shit in August and September, aren't we?
Bubbler86
Oh boy, the GFS has always been on the heat wave bandwagon, but it really stepped up the game today. CMC still sees breaks and no Heatwave through its run.

I'm going to Williamsburg next week for a few days and even down there it's not that bad with max temps in the upper 80's.

Friday on...one or two maps were 102 or 103 at 18Z. Speaking of 18Z it is sure to change then, just the mid 100's caught my eye.
