Yes.  I've been hammering this point recently.  I'm not sure why but I just know that over the years I've always noticed big differences between PWS DPs and the official stations.  Even more so than temp discrepancies.

It’s crazy. Dewpoints mix into the low 60s at ASOS sites and then you check the dewpoints on nearby PWS and it’s still close to 70.

I don't know. It appears I'm in the ballpark. I'm sitting with DP of 73, and many stations are on or two degrees more or less than mine. Look at Allentown for example.

Almost a due westerly component.
I took screenshots of the 5 minutes or the observations for Capital City airport and for Harrisburg international airport. The first picture of some capital city the second picture is from Harrisburg international. These are all from last night. Screenshot_20240716_121813.jpgScreenshot_20240716_121900.jpg

It is rounded off/converted from C though.  Usually when it gyrates between 2 numbers,  it is the number in between....not always but usually.   Even if they are 97 or 95, still good agreement.  Usually those 3 stations are on separate temps.   MDT now says 95 again but I still believe they are 96.

Good example, CXY is probably 98.
Can you explain why we tend to get up so close to our high by noon time and then barely move from noon to 5:00 p.m. even though it's max heating

Usually, it is clouds or a bit higher humidity that intermingles into the equation.  Typically, though temps peak over here later afternoon if no clouds due to the ground continuing to absorb heat.  Some would argue about the sun being the highest in the sky around noon, but my experience has always between 3-4 being the peak many days.

GFS is much warmer for this coming weekend as the SER's orientation/influence actually moves farther away from us than previously forecast leaving us much drier/less clouds.
Bad bad news

It's going to take a hurricane landfilling in the Gulf to break this heat.

Outside the potential rain loss, usually the ridge push farther East in the Atlantic would be good news.   Icon and CMC are not on board with it yet.    But longer term the CMC and GFS grow the Bermuda Pig/SER right back in our faces off the SE coast.
