Skies cleared and temps are shooting up, jumped from 57 to 70 in under 2 hours. Looks like I’ll have to fire up the a/c tomorrow with high 60 dews and mid 80 temps. Almost 1 pm, and rain just ended. Temps still in the upper 40's with overcast skies. Sat showing clouds trying to hang for a while yet. Might get lucky in a couple hours and see some sun. What a cold June day so far. So I'm going to have to take the under there. I’ll take the under also. Sun shines on a dogs ass once in awhile though. Would be pretty crazy to get that high of a heat index this early in June. Powerball
3 hours ago, buckeye said: in fairness I did read a lot of hype about an early, hot dry start to summer. LC was constantly beating the Morch drum all winter. It seems like we haven't been able to keep a true heat wave locked in for quite awhile. Instead it's 2-4 days of above and then a break to equally anomalous lower temps. Kinda wouldn't mind a good ole fashioned shirt soaking lemonade drinking hankerchief wiping heat wave. Larry Cosgrove wasn't wrong with his prediction of a very warm Spring (although yes, he was wrong about it being dry). 2024 was the 6th warmest Spring on record for the US. Not even Morch was a wall-to-wall torch the entire month. And even if it were, statistically-speaking, it's unrealistic to hold that or 2012 in general as the standard for a warm temperature pattern. And yes, Cosgrove was a few weeks too bullish with the transition to eastern ridging / western troughing for Met. Summer. But while delayed, it's definitely still happening. Up to the upper 50's right now. Hazy overcast with the sun trying it's best to break through. If it does, a quick jump into the 60's before it wanes. Got around a quarter inch of rain. That'll help with tomorrow's stuff.

weatherbo
A much warmer morning, low of 48. Should see a nice summer day with a high around 80. Chance of showers and maybe a rumble of thunder but living in this part of the UP I've come to lower my expectations for storms. Cool lake is a killer. OrdIowPitMsp
Light rain this morning. Looks like a hose of light/moderate precip aiming at the metro. Not sure what this will do to our storm chances later on today.
Brian D
Batch of showers moved through here this morning. Expecting svr wx later this aftrn-eve, and could get a little nasty. Highs in the low 80's with upper 70's near the shore of the Lake. Stratus deck currently, but should break in a while. The stms in S MN keeping a cloud deck over the Cities. If that continues, might interfere with development for them later. Update: Sun starting to break through just as I posted this.
Powerball
What an awful model the GFS is. One run, it shows a 600dm ridge over the GL / NE next week, the next run it shows a dirty 582dm ridge with the remnants of a tropical disturbance.
Brian D
Cleared off nicely. Been out soaking up some rays on the deck. Very light lake breeze keeping temps/dews at nice levels here in town. Low 70's currently (upper 60's on the shoreline) with dews in the low 60's at 2 pm.
