Confuzzled
That is BRD and the same thing in Waterbury. Maximum lift (FORTY MICROBARS PER SECOND!!!!!!) in the DENDRITE SNOW GROWTH ZONE leading to ratios > 20:1. That is 30" for both places if it verifies. Collinsville
BDL and HFD also have good ratios kicking in.... I've taken snow core samples from every storm for over 10 years now and you just don't get super high ratios like that in a windy storm. 11-12 to 1 is more to my liking as a forecast. I've only seen 20:1 ratios on snows that pour dendrites with calm winds.
Confuzzled
That is good advice. I knew the wind would kill the ratios but didn't think it was by that much....
Collinsville
Preliminary snow cores I've done have the ratios at about 8.4:1. lol, great ratios eh!
adk
Preliminary snow cores I've done have the ratios at about 8.4:1. lol, great ratios eh! Wind affected. Snow doesn't develop those great dendrites in wind whipped atmospheres.
