Do you think the oceans will blunt extreme climate change by regulating how hot the temperatures can get? Maybe our high temperatures will now level off and even go down a little for coastal areas? July 15th 95...woooow..102 with a dewpoint of 81..I was at an outdoor party at around noon. The 90s were amazingly hot and we saw more 90s temps in that decade than any other before or since. I would extend this period from 1991-2002. 1991, 1993, 1995, 1999 and 2002 were all record setting hot summers with very high numbers of 90 degree days and several 100 degree days right to the coast. At jones we close at 8 and often 830 during heatwaves. it’d currently a full on sand storm at jones and im getting blasted as i type. Definitely gusting into the 30s. The trick was eating your lunch by 1pm so there wasn’t as much blowing sand. Bike riding along boardwalk and near the beach was a challenge was so much blowing sand at times. The ocean conditions would get pretty chaotic with numerous lifeguard rescues. Dunno, I know the ocean can be dangerous, but there is something to be said for self reliance. You have to be aware and respect the power.
