It looks like Upton may have tied the all-time maximum 500mb height record of 598 dam set back in July 2013.  But the orientation of the ridge axis this time allowed the warmest readings to go to the north of our area.

Energy friend says grid is close to collapsing . Said Almost did yesterday

New England’s power system remains reliable despite widespread hot weather across the region.

On Tuesday evening, ISO New England declared a Power Caution after unexpected generation outages left the region short of meeting its operating reserve requirements. The timing of the outages prevented additional resources from coming online in time for the evening peak.

only used 49 kwh yesterday, no a/c used, pool and car took up close to half of it and I still exported 13 kwh back to the grid.... whole house for the win on a day like yesterday. House warmed to 79 by 7 pm, turned the fan on once the outside temps hit 75...was planning on kicking a/c before bed just to lower the humidity but didnt need to, house had already cooled down to 72, this morning it was in the upper 60s with a low of 61. House is warmer today at this point than yesterday, but if the dews remain low this evening. It should be another good night to skip the a/c
