CasualObserver
I'm in Clifton VA. Trying to decide if I should hop in the car and drive west or wait it out at home. A previous post indicated that the clouds are supposed to start clearing around midnight.

I knew this was the case, but crazy how much even 3s exposure on an iPhone picks up things the eyes can’t see. There were two 5-10 periods tonight where it was very clear it was red. Beyond that, needed a technological assist.
baltosquid
Hp30 & Hp60 - Kp index (gfz-potsdam.de) Basically, similar to kp value, shorter time frame. Pegged at 8 right now still, which means low on the horizon is still possible. But if that pocket of broken clouds does not make its way over here soon, I'll probably head to bed... GONG Farside Images (nso.edu) Wonder if that theorized big spot on the farside will survive until it's got Earth in its sights?
