SolidIcewx
Can’t recall the last time I’ve seen a special weather statement for a gust front.

I think the dewpoints mixed out south of I-96. The line held together better north of the front. The steep mid-level lapse rates and higher deepoints are way west.
Brian D
Rains incoming from the SE, and a Flash Flood Watch out. Should get interesting around here later today. Hopefully get some good thunder.
hawkeye_wx
I picked up 0.33" from a dying line of storms this morning. The central Iowa storms appear likely to miss nw. Central Iowa got good by rain this morning.

TheClimateChanger
Wow! Not the earliest 90F+ reading on record, but only 4 years (since 1871) have seen an earlier 90F+ reading at Cleveland. 1953: May 10, 90F; 1959: May 6, 92F, May 20, 91F 1962: May 14, 91F; May 18, 91F; and May 20, 91F 2017: May 17, 90F

OrdIowPitMsp
After 3 summers of flash drought this pattern has been a welcome change. Hope it keeps up throughout the summer. 1.62” so far today, missed out on anything severe but first legit rumbles of thunder this year.

cyclone77
Looks like we may escape this event with nothing more than a 1 minute rain shower. Did pick up 0.01" with that. Overall a big fail rain-wise but glad to avoid the damaging storms.

hawkeye_wx
The potent evening storms passed just nw and east of Cedar Rapids, so I only got some gusty wind and a bit of rain. My daily rain total is 0.82".

nrgjeff
for Sunday: Although the 30% is Mid-South, the surface low and associated boundaries could very well be Illinois to Indiana. I'd love the WF to be north of I-70. At least I-64. Outflow will likely be in the Mid-South but that's hideous chase terrain. If the atmosphere can recover from morning rain and storms, instability should get north into IL/IN which is already 15%. SPC could be waiting for confidence on Atmo recovery and then destabilization farther north. Their 'concerning pattern' language is notable. 2
TheClimateChanger
Looking like another scorching month... starting to feel like Groundhog Day at this point to be honest. Some areas could see their warmest May on record. At Mansfield, Ohio, the first three weeks of May have been the warmest on record (dating to 1916). Cleveland Toledo Mansfield, Ohio Detroit Lansing Dayton
TheClimateChanger
Pretty much bonus summer this month. At many of these locations, the coldest Julys are only about 1.5-2F warmer than this month, and all of them have seen numerous cooler Junes.
