Took a ride over to Northern NH today and had breakfast at Polly’s Pancake Parlor in Franconia. Stunning day and views.

Polly’s is an institution!  We used to go there on the way to/from backpacking sojourns 50 years ago.

Now this is a 10/10 day given we have humidity! Beautiful day to sit outside with some water, coffee, and tequila soda to stay adequately hydrated.

Shut ‘em down.

Very patchy natural snow cover around the Co-Op Stake site this Memorial Day Weekend (usually recorded as a trace in snowpack if any snow is left in the vicinity of the stake).

Maxed out at 91” in March, then melted but rebounded back to 90” in April.  Seven and a half feet of natural snowpack with at least a couple feet of water equivalent (24-30” liquid/SWE/QPF) always takes a while to melt out.

This is about normal melt out, despite the positive departures the past 6 months.

Just noticed that the WU forecast moved the anticipated onset of thunderstorms earlier by at least several hours - but it did so by extending the potential duration of the thunderstorm activity rather than by merely shifting it earlier.

So, perhaps there may be 'fun' times ahead, from early this afternoon through the evening hours.
