Chrisrotary12
Have played three times: 84, 86, 83. Didn’t score well during 83, but felt solid about most aspects. Have my first NHGA event on the 28th, need weather to break so I can practice.

I remember one year golfing in 38 degree drizzle, couldn't wait to get into the clubhouse. We ended up moving the start day to first week of May here too. John, interesting article about some courses out your way. Ever play them? https://www.massgolf.org/news/new-era-at-cohasse-country-club-2025/?utm_campaign=The Weekender&utm_medium=email&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-_VlecddKRSg8T9wtTGIfTzEkh02Ze5mUQDO_p2EHmpS7jW9BOdk9O7SHEUUbpU8KRjUUhbJjlABSBIV2xUjGy6KsOKGQ&_hsmi=356281405&utm_content=356281405&utm_source=hs_email

I'm excited about this sale because the older members got into deep debt and couldn't keep the course up, the membership fee got too high and they lost members, this new guy has a reputation for reviving courses, so I hope this turns out. The gold pro is a friend of mine from school., he was the pro at the course I play in Charlton before going to Marlborough. Nice course Ken, should try it out.

This story sounds like a repeat of my old 9-hole course that was member owned. We sold to someone who, to their credit, has kept it a golf course but has not kept it in great shape. I hope they can make it to 2027 for the 100th anniversary of the club but I'm not sure. Anyway, I'm glad to see what looks like a brighter future. 9-hole courses fill an important niche and are too often written off as not being "real" golf. I hope this one makes it.
Chrisrotary12
Four rounds in the books so far: 84, 86, 83, 78. Ball striking really coming around. Putting would be better if greens could get rolled but because it’s still January here, they blow.

Chrisrotary12
It's that time of year when playing in the afternoon it's gusting to 30 no matter what. I swear I had a tee shot move 40 yards on a cross wind.
kdxken
Mask golf sent me this. Maybe someone can find a deal or play someplace they've always wanted to. https://www.charityauctionstoday.com/bid/15590
mreaves
My course opened yesterday. I was able to get 6.5 holes in. After a double, double start I made back to back pars before three-putting for a couple of bogeys. It was windy and cold but I was happy to be out.
Chrisrotary12
Home course is slowly coming together. Greens are rolling good, but slow. Course is mostly dry thanks to stein. Game is coming together. Rounds so far this year: 84, 86, 83, 77, 75. Made 4 dumb bogeys this morning. Otherwise shot level par.
