1.98" for the day and 4.27" for the event so far. Fairly significant flooding in parts of GC. Front has passed through and temps are slowly dropping (now 40.5/38.6). Should be good for some spring snow although I'd be shocked at my elevation if it amounts to much. I'll be heading to Davis and Canaan tomorrow afternoon as soon as I'm done with work to see what it looks like up in the valley.

Potomac near Brunswick high but within its banks as I end my train ride home.  Wonder if the wet spring will set us up for tropical flood threats later this summer.

The creek next to Hamburg Rd in the Watershed is flowing thick rn. Might be the most active I’ve seen it. I think we’re good on rain for a bit.

Looks like a wake low spun through Baltimore through NE MD:

Check out the temp spike (Red Line), Wind gusts (blue lines), and pressure drop (black line), along with a brief spike in solar radiation from the clearing behind the low...probably from some brief subsidence.

I was wondering what happened. The rain was just about to pull out and suddenly it got very windy here. Did not see any trees down, but tons of small and medium sized branches everywhere.

Wonder if we’ll get some little hailers tomorrow with the upper low passing over.  NAM has quite impressive mid-level lapse rates.

edit - I see High Risk already mentioned this over in the severe thread

I want severe graupel!

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
Dry conditions have returned to the area early this morning, with
some patchy dense fog developing in a few river valleys. Cloud cover
increases this morning as a deep low pressure over the OH Valley
moves east and over the area today into tonight. This is going to
produce scattered to widespread showers, with isolated thunderstorms
this afternoon into early evening. Given cold temps aloft, strong
forcing for ascent, and steep mid-level lapse rates it is likely
that the stronger convection produces graupel. Most of it should
remain small, though it could accumulate in any heavy showers/storm.
While it is not likely, cannot rule out that graupel reaches the
size where a Severe Thunderstorm Warning could be needed. Highs
today reach the 50s, and the upper 30s to 40s in the mountains.
