Even if it falls short of the monthly record, still fairly rarefied air here. Last 90F+ in the month of April occurred in 2010. IAD has done exceptionally well with monthly records over the last 16 months. The 79F on January 26, 2024 shattered the previous monthly record of 75F from 1/29/1975. The 80F reading on February 23, 2023, tied the previous monthly record set on February 21, 2018. No…I’m pro-“I don’t like climate change”. But I would take this over the 50s pretty much any day…primarily because that is a stratus cloud producing temp range around here.
