CoolBreeze
You got over 20" in 2000 while hky got zero. I haven't seen a foot in 22 years and I only vaguely remember it. Take you tantrums elsewhere. I don't understand all the angst that was expressed by some (Wilderman) during this storm. So much wasted energy. Why not just sit back and watch it unfold? It was such a beautiful process that evolved. I learned a great deal. Thanks to all that gave their time, analysis, and PBP. This is the place to be !!! Carvers Gap
Someone really needs to start a New Year's thread. W/ the teleconnections in the realms they are, I don't think we can count January out anymore. For those of us who the storm is passed, it would be nice to have a place to talk about upcoming weather. Donsutherland posted on the main page that snowy Decembers in the Northeast are good indicators of snowy winters during moderate-strong La Ninas. Anyway, it may be time to start another thread for upcoming weather and allow this one to continue as a storm thread.

Cold Rain
Well, Cold Rain really did do a great job keeping these threads going through out this fantastic snow event !!! I suspect that far more people are happy with the results that we ever expected. So many times one area of the region gets snow at the expense of another, but this time most everyone got snow-satisfaction !!! A job well done Cold Rain !!! Thanks CoolBreeze. I'm glad we all got to cash this one in. Most fun I've ever had tracking a storm, but I must say, I'm wore out now.... and ready for some sleep. Brent
Been flurrying/light snow all day here in East AL. brettjrob
Been flurrying/light snow all day here in East AL. Same here. What's funny is that even during the bursts of moderate snow, we can't get so much as a coating on the roads and sidewalks, and it's 29 F. Goes to show how devastating the sun angle is around these parts. God, I miss the NE in the winter.

FoothillsNC
 Simply amazing... Glad you got some snow . I didn't know that GSP and CLT were so low in this event, almost everyone has now beat the CLT to GSP corridor basically except a few coastal sections. You could go 40 miles in any direction from my house and find 4+ inches of snow yet I only managed 1.5 inches that was mostly melted by 10am. I am really getting sick of this and to be honest and it's gotten to the point where I don't even wanna follow winter threats anymore because it just leads to disappointment. I'm not asking for the bullseye. It would just be nice for once to not be in the epicenter of the storm minimum for the whole region.

I will never understand how in the world people in every direction (except for maybe north thanks to the mountains) of the upstate get more snow than we do. We get monsooned in the Spring but can't seem to get any precip. to save our lives in the Winter.

Thank you Robert I had between 3 to 3.5" earlier(thanks to the awesome rates early this morning) and now there's about 1.5-2" left on the ground. KChuck
Didn't get my totals in from this morning at 9:00 am. Had two consistent measurements from the half dozen locations I use around area of house 4 miles north of Kernersville, NC... 6.75" and 7". Will report the 6.75". Picked up 2" overnight with stong flurries off and on thru the day. Don't think that it accumulated much if any at all. Posted pictures in picture thread. We took walk around golf course at lunch and it was flat out picture card quality gorgeous Thanks to Foothills, Lookout, DaculaWeather, and other pro mets who made this blog so wonderful. Kudo's go to Foothills for sticking so long with the Euro with a special MoJo of the century award to Cool Rain, who should forevermore be known as Cool Snow!!!
