CoolBreeze
As the low heads into the Atlantic, which map(s) should we monitor to view the expanding precip field? Also, is there an 850 low and if so, where is it located relative to the surface low? TIA
DopplerWx
I have a feeling this thing will absolutely explode off the coast. RUC seems to have been initializing the low too weak. If this thing gets going then someone in the eastern carolinas will hit the jackpot thats for sure. Our patience will pay off soon.
strongwxnc
Yes it does. Im in the county next to Foothills and my sn is back to mod now. Would love to see it stay on that heading! Something to possibly watch for in the upstate, there has been a noticeable increase in returns and intensity there...maybe a banding type feature? Regardless, Looks pretty impressive right now. UNCCmetgrad
Just got back from doing the family thing all day but have been tracking radar and the board all day. Have right at 1 inch of snow and coming down moderately. Am liking radar trends as of late as we are seeing a few heavier bands develop over the upstate of SC heading northeast. Also seems like the back side of the precipitation shield is slowing down a little over N. Georgia. This could be the beginning signs of a pivot as the low begins to turn and deepen up the coast. Cold Rain
Eastern Wake County is really getting shafted for the time being. I had about 15 minutes of light rain, and all the upstream precip of my location keeps dissipating. And that nice hole opening up in SC is upstream of me. BIG FROSTY
Anyone got the 12hr. I think we are just about through with accum. lgt snow just not accum. 31 degrees No doubt if it had been freezing all day we would have 8 inches. Pilotwx
I went for a ride about 30 minutes ago, measured 5 to 6 also. looking @ the radar you can see a dry slot starting to form. I say Powerstroke might get under the Def. Zone. Oh well we got ours and happy for it. Just the snow weenie I am I want more! This has been the craziest storm. I mean the flakes have been so small but they are piling up and sticking to everything. How much you got now ? And I agree, the low track looks about prefect for eastern/central SC and NC. Coastal areas may have temp problems but they'll def see some good snow. But even I was surprised at how quick the precip exploded in GA and SC...wow.
Brick Tamland
I guess the snow we have had so far here is just a warm up. Sounds like the good stuff should be coming in overnight when the low bombs off the coast. RAH still calling for 3 to 6 with some areas getting 6 to 8.
